How do I get the Update Kit?
If you are a Kickstarter Backer and select a pledge level that includes the Sea of Legends Base Game, Rise of the Ancients, and/or Vengeance of the Empires you will receive all the updated content included in the Update Kit.
If your pledge does not include the base game or an expansion, you can add the Update Kit in the add-on section of the survey.

My pledge level includes Vengeance of the Empires, but I don’t see the Update Kit listed.
Every box of Vengeance of the Empires will include a copy of the Update Kit inside. If you are pledging or pre-ordering Vengeance of the Empires, you do not need a separate Update Kit.

If you pledged at the $1 we will deduct that from your shipping cost for the Update Kit. If you did not back the Kickstarter, you can still get the Update Kit when we open the pre-order store.

What’s in the Legendary Rewards Pack?
The Legendary Rewards Pack includes 5x Lover/Nemesis Characters, 25x Legendary Crew cards (for the base Lover/Nemesis characters and the 5 new Lover/Nemesis characters), 2x Class 3 Ship cards (1 new Ship design), 8x Crew cards (4 new Crew).

Can I add to my shopping cart later?
Once you have completed your survey in BackerKit, you can still make adjustments until we close the pledge manager. However, changes CANNOT be made once the pledge manager closes. We will post in advance to the pledge manager closing, but we recommend completing your survey with all the items you want to avoid any problems.

I have left over credit from the first Kickstarter.

How many players?
The Sea of Legends Base Game can accommodate 1-4 players.
With the Rise of the Ancients expansion, the game can accommodate 1-5 players.

What languages does Sea of Legends come in? Will you offer translations?
Because Sea of Legends takes advantage of the flexibility of English to procedurally generate adventure dialogs that incorporate specific characters, relics, factions and much more, the game is only available in English and will not be translated.

I backed the first Kickstarter. What should I be getting?
The Vengeance of the Empires expansion released in this campaign introduces 5 new Factions and 4 new Captains.
There is also a special set of 8 stunning Captains sculpted from Bob Kehl’s memorable artwork and brought to life in Sea of Legends. Each of these Captains copies the ability of a Captain from the base game or the Rise of the Ancients expansion.
If you bought The Rise of the Ancients expansion in our first Kickstarter (the purple box), you can purchase the new upgraded translucent Sea Coven minis.
The Legendary Rewards Pack adds new Lover/Nemesis cards, upgraded Legendary Crew cards for the base game Lover/Nemesis characters 3 Ships, and 8 Crew cards.

What is different about the Sea of Legends base game?
This reprint will have a revised, easier to navigate rulebook, a separate faction guide book, new faction flowchart cards to help with NPC turns and all the cards that were misprinted in the first printing have been corrected.

Do I need the base game to play with the expansions?
Yes. To play either Rise of the Ancients or Vengeance of the Empires you will need to own a copy of the Sea of Legends Base game. However neither expansion requires the other expansion to play.

What is Rise of the Ancients?
Rise of the Ancients is the new name for the expansion released during the original Kickstarter campaign. We updated cards, added cards, and changed the Sea Coven miniatures.

Do I need the app to play?
Yes. The app is an essential part of game play. The app grants ingame rewards and also helps you create a narrative adventure through choices made in the app. This app is free and does not require a subscription but will require internet access.

Can the app play offline?
No. Unfortunately at this time the Companion app does require internet access. If down the road the platform we are using releases and offline mode then we will try our best to make that available.

Will the Sea of Legends app be supported in the future?
The Sea of Legends app was created on Endless Adventures Incorporated App authoring platform. Our partners at Endless Adventures Incorporated will maintain the platform as needed to support our efforts for a minimum of 5 years from the date Sea of Legends: Vengeance of the Empire ships to the US backers. Furthermore our partners have committed to making a PC and Mac version of the app available for download to assure future accessibility in the unlikely case that the mobile versions can no longer be supported. In the unfortunate event that our partners are unable to keep up this platform beyond that date, they will release the source code into the public domain to enable other developers to continue to keep the platform available.

Does everything fit in one box?
Unfortunately not. These boxes are stuffed with minis. While we have done our best to condense as much as possible into each box, the safety of the miniatures was a top priority so all items should be stored in their original box.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
